They might already be making their mark in the West End, but these four youngsters will be starring closer to home next month.Swish of the Curtain are in final rehearsals for their version of Peter Pan, due to open at the Pavilion in Bournemouth on February 15.
Among the cast of young performers are several that have already appeared in West End productions.
Speaking at rehearsals at Glenmoor School, director Tina Smith promised a new take on the classic tale – and a surprise ending.
She said: "It's going very well and is very exciting.
"There's a storyteller this time and it's a mix of theatre and musical theatre.
"I didn't just want it to be a pantomime, so hopefully it's a new take on it.
"There's a lot of 'flying' going on, which has cost us a lot of money – it's a very ambitious project and the children are extremely good performers.
"When they get the experience elsewhere and do the professional shows they know what to do."
The cast ranges in age from seven to 20.
Lewis Edgar, 10, who plays Michael, has already appeared in Les Miserables and Oliver.
He said: "It's really nice doing stuff in Bournemouth because it reminds you of where you've come from."
Toby Prynne, 13, plays John and has appeared in Les Miserables and Goodnight Mr Tom.
He said: "It's been brilliant, it's more fun being down here, although it was a brilliant experience in the West End."
Jake Howlett, 16, appeared in Oliver alongside Rowan Atkinson and plays Peter Pan in the Bournemouth show.
He said: "My family can come and watch, as it's local."
Isabella Sedgwick, 15, is playing Wendy.
She has appeared in Mary Poppins in the West End.
"The West End is on a much bigger scale, but this is just as professional and it's fun.
"It's like one big family and you see everybody all of the time and it's nice to be here doing it."
