A great way of introducing your child to the performing arts at a young age is through our Pre School and Introductory classes. Catering for your budding performers in all areas whether it be Acting, Singing or Dancing!

 

Pre-Performers

Children from as young as 2½ years can discover the world of drama and musical theatre with specialist teachers trained to work with our younger members. Strong emphasis is given towards voice work to avoid future problems with speech impediments although all the fun aspects are covered as well - dressing up, improvisation, confidence building, show and tell, story telling, emotional expressions and much more besides. Parents leave children, as this allows the child to build their own strong character away from their safety zone. At the weekend, these classes last an hour - half an hour of Pre-Performers and half an hour of Baby Ballet. During the week, chidlren may elect to just participate in one half hour session.

Baby Ballet

NEW this year are numerous Baby Ballet Classes at a time to suit your baby's routine. Classes are starting in the brand new soft play arena, Bee a Bug in Westbourne and the Regent Centre in Christchurch. Other sessions operate in Bournemouth, Poole and Ringwood.
For ages 2-4. Classes last 30 minutes. Baby Ballet Classes are also run in conjunction with Pre-Performers for a complete experience in an hour! Please see the timetable for full information.

Musical Theatre

Older children aged between 4 and 6 years can join our Introductory Classes and experience drama, dance and song for 1½ hours in a specially shortened version of our normal classes. This gives the children an excellent introduction to Musical Theatre and Performance and fully prepares them for when they are ready to join our main school. Pupils will study dance technique, rhythm, improvisation, confidence building, voice work and much more. Optional LAMDA Verse and Prose exams are also covered within normal class time for those aged 5 and above.

Street Dance

Get fit and funky with our hour long class. Recommended for children of 5 years and over who want to learn to be the next member of DIversity!  Learn routines to impress all your friends and perfect your rhythm and coordination to really 'be your best!'

Ballet/Tap/Street

NEW this year is our special hour and a quarter class named 'Funky Feet' which encompasses 3 exciting disciplines in one session - Ballet, Tap and Street Dance. Learn and perfect your technique in this perfect mixture for the budding dancer with funky feet! For ages 4-6 years.
